About

I have been an Ofsted registered childminder since July 2011. I live with my husband who is an assistant childminder, with valid DBS and First Aid training. I am a very patient, responsible and caring person. I love children and feel it is a privilege to look after them. My aim is to give them the best care possible based on their preferences and needs. My aim is to offer the same facilities as a nursery but in a smaller more homely, happy, secure and comfortable environment where the children receive warmth, love and care on a one-to-one basis. During the most recent Ofsted inspection (October 2017), my setting was rated 'Good' - Grade 2. My experience: I have been lucky enough to care for a large number of children, all with their own individual needs and preferences. Throughout my time as a childminder, I have had experience caring for new born babies, toddlers, teenagers and children with special needs. I work closely with parents to ensure that each child receives the care they need and in a way which suits them. My qualifications: CACHE (Council for Awards in Care, Health & Education) CYPOP 5, level OFSTED registered home based childminder CACHE (Council for Awards in Care, Health & Education) CYPOP 5, level 3 - introduction to home based childcare Safeguarding children (child protection) Paediatric First Aid (includes basic life support) Enhanced DBS - Cleared UK Driving Licence - Full & Clean National Child Minding Association (NCMA) member Certificate in Food Hygiene

Description

Why choose chandra's childminding: As a parent myself I know how hard it can be to choose a childcare provider that is right for you. I recognise this can be a tough decision and have listed why I think Chandra's Childminding is the place for you and your children. Free ‘settling in sessions’ for new parents, to come and stay with your child for a chance to see if we are right for you and your child. Proximity. We are within a 1 mile radius to a number of local schools and have good public transport links, with Southgate, Oakwood and Cockfosters Underground stations a short walk or bus ride away and are served well by 125, 299, 298, 382, 307 and 121 bus routes. Early Years Framework. I understand the need to ensure each child develops in my setting and have a strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. I achieve this through daily observations, weekly planning and monthly reports to ensure that each child is offered the relevant activities to continue their development across the 7 areas of learning. Flexible hours. I recognise that jobs are rarely as simple as 9AM-5PM and am able to support a timetable which accounts for unexpected changes, delays and extended hours to suit the parent and the child. Equal Opportunities. I treat every child with equal concern and respect to meet their individual needs, regardless of gender, social background, ethnic origin, religion, age or ability. I will always help children to feel good about themselves and others, by celebrating the differences which make us all unique.
