My Name is Mani Spratt. I have been working with children for over 10 years and have enjoyed every minute of it. I find childcare to be a wonderful career and am blessed to have a very supportive family too.

Description

I completed the Early Childhood Course and International Diploma in Montessori Pedagogy from MCI Montessori Centre International, London in 2008. Thereafter I worked for a short time in a Montessori nursery after which I joined London Early Years Foundation (LEYF) as a nursery practitioner to work with children from 6 months to the age of 5 years. LEYF is a social enterprise with 34 nurseries in London and as such was a great place for me to learn from the vast base of experience there. My duties as a Duty Manager, Nursery Practitioner and Learning Support Assistant at LEYF were as follows: Planning, delivering and evaluating activities and learning experiences for children between 6 months & 5 years of age Ensuring high levels of child protection, safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children Delivering excellence in child care and development, ensuring children are engaged and stimulated by activities that promote learning and interest Providing health support, safety and promoting an inclusive culture Planning, organising and managing the seven areas of EYFS Maintaining up-to-date learning journeys on a weekly basis with activity plans, observations and assessments Maintaining comprehensive records of children’s achievements and progress Working as SENCO for children with special needs Maintaining the highest level of safety, hygiene and cleanliness in the nursery Leadership role within nursery for developing a partnership with parents After seven years at LEYF where I worked in various roles, I felt I had the knowledge to start my own childcare where I could take the experience and knowledge I had gained and further improve on it. I am sure you will agree when you see my childminding set-up which covers all the seven areas of statutory framework of EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) and more. My husband and I live in a large end-of-terrace house with our two lovely children. Our elder son Philip is 9 years old and our younger son David 6 years old. Our home is less than a 5 minute walk to Manorside Primary school, Our Lady of Lourdes RC school and Tudor school; a 15 minute walk to Moss Hall school. This will be very convenient for the young children in my care, as they will not need to travel for too long a period of time back and forth from school. Our home has a large ground floor with open access to a large green garden. This whole area is dedicated entirely to my childcare setting and as such the children have lots of space and also all the home comforts that will make your little one feel right at home.
