Description

Woodlands Preschool provides care for children aged 2 to 4. Set in a converted school in beautiful woods next to Southborough Common and behind St Peter’s Church, there is plenty of space to park, making drop-offs and collections easy for parents.  Our rooms are sparkling from our recent refurbishment which, together with all the new furniture and resources, has had a huge impact on all of our children’s learning and development. We feed into many local schools such as Southborough, Speldhurst, Langton Green, Bidborough, St Matthews and St Johns and work closely with all of them to help ease transitions between nursery and ‘big school’. At Woodlands, our Southborough children's day nursery, we use a 'key person' approach to support parents and children from the very start. Your child’s key person will follow your child’s individual routine and build their day around your preferences and wishes.  We offer eight-week 'settling in' sessions before your child starts, to enable you and your child to build relationships with your key person and provide an insight into the day-to-day running of the nursery. We tailor the sessions to each family, based on discussions and observations. We also have a fully qualified Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO) who works here at Woodlands to help and support children and families with additional needs. Children at our Southborough preschool can take part in activities including planting, digging, sand and water play in our amazing adventure garden, as well as hunting for mini-beasts: all of which help with sensory development. The amazing nature observatory overlooking the woods makes our garden a very special place for children to learn, develop and discover the natural world. Our friendly, experienced and highly qualified staff are on hand to conduct a personal nursery tour at a time to suit you.
